Strand Woven Bamboo Board Carbonized 2440 x 300 x 40 mm
This strand woven bamboo board with dimensions 2440 x 300 x 40 mm is made from bamboo fibers that are compressed under very high pressure (2,500 tons). The carbonized color is achieved by heating the fibers which causes the natural sugars in the bamboo to caramelize. Because of the use of bamboo fibers (strands), these panels have a very unique look and pattern.
The hardness, dimensional stability and high durability makes strand woven bamboo panels not only ideal for indoor use but also for outdoor applications (when treated). They can be used for making heavy duty stair treads, bridges, tables, benches, street furniture, decking and cladding..

Working with strand woven bamboo
- All of our strand woven bamboo panels are untreated but can be easily painted with wood oil or varnish for the desired look and feel. For outdoor use we recommend to coat strand woven bamboo with epoxy or a closed paint system.
- The processing of strand woven bamboo is comparable to working with hardwood. Drilling, milling, sawing, planing and sanding is all possible. The hardness of strand woven bamboo however affects your tools. Therefore we recommend using carbide tools or tools with diamond enhanced cutting surfaces.
