Care
The colour of untreated pressed bamboo changes under the influence of UV light. The Caramel colour may therefore fade slightly over time. We recommend treating the Bamboo Panel Caramel with our Bamboo Topcoat. This is a specially developed bamboo lacquer that offers optimal protection against wear, stains and discolouration. Bamboo Topcoat is water-based. It does not change the colour, but does give a beautiful silk gloss. If you use furniture oil, apply it in a thin layer. Bamboo has a dense surface and absorbs oil more slowly. Applying oil too thickly can lead to uneven gloss and long drying times. Our panels are not intended for prolonged exposure to water and moisture. If you do want to use our panels in a damp environment such as a bathroom, we recommend treating them with our Bamboo Topcoat. The Bamboo Panel Caramel must never come into direct contact with water. The lifespan of our panels is based on use in a non-humid environment.
Instructions for use
A Bamboo Panel Light Caramel is an eco-friendly and sustainable building material. Bamboo panel material also has a beautiful natural look. It can be worked and finished with the same tools, adhesives, lacquers and oils used for wooden panels. The inner layers of solid bamboo panels consist of several bamboo strips, so small gaps may sometimes be visible. This is done to optimise the stability of the panels. These gaps can be filled when finishing the panel. Semi-finished and finished products made from the Bamboo Panel Light Caramel can be bonded with a D3 waterproof adhesive for interior applications. Although our Bamboo Panel Light Caramel is harder than oak, the bamboo panels are easy to work with. Do make sure you use sharp tools, as this is a hard material.
