WORKING WITH BAMBOO

Half-round bamboo sticks can be joined in many different ways. Most techniques use Manila rope and/or threaded rods. More advanced methods, such as the fish-mouth joint or the mortise-and-tenon joint, are equally possible. You can of course also screw bamboo in place. When you do, we always recommend pre- drilling to keep the risk of splitting to a minimum. Bamboo is best cut with a Japanese saw.
