PROPERTIES
Every bamboo pole is unique. Colour differences and variations in the width of the bamboo sticks are normal for this natural product. Vertical splitting is a natural characteristic of the material too. Splits are most likely to appear during the hot, dry months of the year. In damp, cold weather the splits are smaller than in dry, warm weather. Splitting has no direct effect on the lifespan.
A natural characteristic of bamboo poles is that the sticks are thicker at the base than at the top. This taper depends on the bamboo species and the length of the stick.
